Weekly Diary: June 6 - 12, 2025

Weekly Diary contains what I did and how I felt during the past week. Weekly Diary will be published on my blog every Friday, For special reasons, the weekly diary will be delayed by a day or two. Let’s read my new weekly diary of June 6 - 12, 2025!  This diary took place in Cincinnati, Ohio which is my hometown.

Friday, June 6 - I celebrated my dad's birthday all day. I sent him a happy birthday gift image via email. I gave him free back rub for a week. He loved it. We had spaghetti and meatballs dinner and Oreo ice cream cake dessert. These are his favorites. He had a great day celebrating his birthday!
10 years ago today, I graduated from high school. It was an incredibly unforgettable moment. I couldn't be more proud of my accomplishments! ❤️

On this day in 2015, I graduated from Oak Hills High School, located on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. It was an incredibly unforgettable moment! I couldn't be more proud of my accomplishments! ❤️πŸ–€

Saturday, June 7 - My mom and I attended my dad's buddy's daughter's bridal shower brunch @ Seasons 52. At the event, we reunited with her, her family, and a familiar face, my caregiver's mom who came from Florida. We ate delicious flatbread appetizers. We chose one of four lunch entrees. I had a crab cake sandwich- yummy. We played some fun bridal games and watched the bride-to-be open gifts. Her fiancΓ© who is vision impaired came to be with her while they were opening gifts and catching up with the guests. We had a lovely time there. When we got home from the bridal shower, I reunited with my caregiving friend, Jailyn and we caught up a lot together. She helped me hang my shipped clothes from Florida in my closet. We went to Onolicious Hawaii in Downtown Cincinnati for dinner. It's a small restaurant. This was my first time eating a whole Hawaiian meal. The Hawaiian food was amazingly delicious and rich. My Hawaiian chicken tasted sweetly delicious. The special sauce contains soy sauce and pineapple juice. I loved it!

Sunday, June 8 - I started my day with going to Toast and Berry in Montgomery for brunch with my three girlfriends, Stacey, Ashley, and Maria. We caught up together. I got a glass of blueberry mimosa, mushroom & jack cheese omelet with hash brown squares and turkey bacon, and a shareable Peaches n' Cream French Toast- what a delicious brunch meal! When I got home from brunch, I stayed home for a little bit. I was heading to Boltz & Nutz farm's adaptive cooking class located in Loveland, Ohio, a northeast suburb of Cincinnati. My newly trained caregiver, Whitney accompanied me. On our way to the outing, Whitney was driving the street way. She doesn't like driving the expressway because she is scared of the expressway traffic. It took about 80 minutes to get to Boltz. We made it safely. At Boltz, Yvonne the chef taught us how to make a delicious lemon chicken piccata with colored rotini pasta and a romaine lettuce salad with prosciutto and balsamic vinegar for dinnerI. I did some cutting and preparing with assistance. I tried the meal and it was delicious. Chicken piccata tasted lemony and delicious. I loved how the meat was well cooked. I enjoyed spending time with the chef and peers. After dinner, I made a special visit to ScoopAble, a new ice cream shop employing individuals with developmental disabilities located close to Boltz. I got a scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream and it was great. I loved the flavor. The place is very special. The staff did a great job scooping ice cream whatever people wanted. They are special and friendly. They made my heart smile. 😊 ❤️ Whitney drove me home so it took an hour to get home! I got home at 8pm. It was a very long fun day. I had a lot of fun. I felt somewhat asleep while riding the car to my house lol πŸ˜‚

Monday, June 9 - It was a relaxing and productive day for me. At Metzcor, I reunited with my friend, Caroline who has CP and uses a power wheelchair. She was back from her vacation. I posted my ScoopAble review on Facebook and Instagram. Many people reached positively to my review.
At home, I helped transferring my mom's old iPad to her new iPad. Although my mom is not tech-savvy, she asks me to help her technologically like that. I know she has limited technology habits due to a lack of master technology but she enjoys utilizing her new Apple devices. Since my caregiver had to leave early for her mom's birthday dinner, I ordered and ate dinner from O'Charleys via DoorDash, took a shower with assistance, and did my night routine before my caregiver left. My mom and I watched the series finale of The Handmaid's Tale on Hulu. The finale made us feel so surprised and emotional. It was such an epic and powerful TV series.

Tuesday, June 10 - I gave my dad a back rub in the morning. He felt so comfortable with it. At Metzcor, I ordered a salami sandwich and a smoothie from BLOC Coffee Shop for lunch- yummy. During MakeCor club, we were taking cool photos using a kid instant camera that automatically prints black and white photos. I felt impressed by how the printing camera works. I thought it was a good idea to capture funny and cool photos. I spent time talking with my peers there. I headed to the dentist. At the dentist office, I transferred to a recliner chair. My mom was there for her dental appointment. The dental hygienist did some hygiene on my teeth so I felt comfortable and relaxed with the service. The dentist examined my teeth and said my teeth were clean and perfect! I now have to go to the dentist twice a year because he knows I divide my time between Cincinnati and Florida and allows my dental appointments to be tentatively scheduled. I headed to Kreimer's a German restaurant for dinner with my mom and my caregiver, Nya. I had sauerkraut balls and Bavarian Chicken with potato pancake and tossed salad with raspberry vinaigrette- yummy!

Cool Photo Prints From Instant Camera - It automatically prints tiny grayscale photos.

Wednesday, June 11 - My dad got me up at 7am and helped me get dressed. He had to go to work. My mom and I ate a cream of wheat for breakfast. At Metzcor, I was doing my essentials on my iPad. I saw the owner of Metzcor and we greeted each other. At home, I exercised on the deck outside. I got a salmon dinner from Longhorn.

Thursday, June 12 - I had a PT session with Nick and it was great. I did strong exercises like pushing, standing, punching, throwing a rubber ball, and squatting. These exercises helped me improve my strength and balance. I did it! I registered for Therapeutic Recreation summer programs online. (Therapeutic Recreation is a systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activities that address the assessed needs of individuals with disabilities as means to physical health, recovery, and wellbeing. It's always a fun, exciting, and rewarding experience that makes individuals feel happy, fulfilled, motivated, and accomplished. They also enjoy doing their interests.) I got a grilled chicken salad from LaRosa's for dinner- healthy and delicious. (LaRosa's is a local family pizzeria in Greater Cincinnati that serves homemade pizzas, hoagies, pastas, and other great food options. It's operating for over 70 years. It's a historic local pizza tradition!)

The past week has been great for me. It was filled with excitement, relaxation, fun, joy, laughter, positivity, and wellbeing. I am grateful for what I did during the past week. 😁πŸ₯°
