Weekly Diary: May 30 - June 5, 2025

Weekly Diary contains what I did and how I felt during the past week. Weekly Diary will be published on my blog every Friday, For special reasons, the weekly diary will be delayed by a day or two. Let’s read my new weekly diary of May 30 - June 5, 2025!  This diary took place in Cincinnati, Ohio which is my hometown.

Friday, May 30 - I felt so joyful to be back in my hometown of Cincinnati!! I stayed home all day. I exercised in bed before getting out of bed. I got a Tri-fecta breakfast platter containing a Floridian French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, and Turkey Sausage from First Watch for brunch- what a delicious and healthy meal! I posted on Facebook and Instagram to tell everyone I finally made it to my hometown! πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯°❤️ I ordered Mexican food via DoorDash for dinner. I had to unpack and put away my stuff with assistance. I received an email from my friend who has cerebral palsy that there is a new ice cream shop employing individuals with disabilities in Loveland, OH, a northeast suburb of Cincinnati. The shop is called ScoopAble. Every scoop can make a difference. It's featured on WLWT5, a local news station. I will visit the place sometime this summer! 🍦🍨

Saturday, May 31 - My dad shared a wonderful advice regarding my employment struggles with me during breakfast time. He encouraged me to find a job something I am passionate about while enjoying my life. And remember that I have strengths and weaknesses. He said it's very important that I have to play my strengths, particularly in my intelligence, visualization, problem'solving, and computer skills. Everyone has challenges in life. I am following his advice as I shall never give up on everything I deserve!
I ate Skyline's Cheese Coney (a hot dog topped with a famous chili, shredded yellow cheese, onions, and mustard) for lunch- yummy. I met a new caregiver, Whitney. She is referred by my caregiver, Nya. Whitney lives in the west side of Cincinnati like me. She is awesome. Nya and I trained Whitney to assist me with my daily living and self-care tasks. According to my mom, Whitney looks like my mom's late best friend. I went to Olive Garden with Nya and Whitney for dinner at the restaurant, My aunt's good friend ran into us at our table. She greeted us! She said she loves seeing my social media posts and my blog. We shared 2 appetizers- Stuffed Ziti Fritta and Lasagna Fritta! I had Chicken Parmigiana and Watermelon Moscato Sangria along with free salad and breadsticks! When I got home, I put away my hair accessories with assistance. I had a great day! I love Whitney. I felt impressed by her personality, experiences, and discovery. We all had a lot of fun!

Sunday, June 1 -  Happy June! June arrives with sunshine in its heart and promise in the air. Let this be a fresh start — a chance to set gentle goals, soak up little joys, and celebrate how far you’ve come.
I started setting up a travel diary for my upcoming vacation on my blog. But, I will publish it when I finish my vacation. It's going to be an exciting and unforgettable once-a-lifetime adventure. Shhh, stay tuned! I made plans for this week. I gave away a box of my old clothes to my two caregivers, Nya and Whitney. They enjoyed going through the box. We had an enjoyable early dinner at Longhorn. Nya and I trained Whitney to assist me with doing my shower. Whitney practiced assisting me with my daily routine and she did a great job on providing care to me!

Monday, June 2 - I started my day with eating scrambled eggs and toast with strawberry jam for breakfast. I went to the medical center to get Botox injections on my left arm and leg. (I have been getting Botox injections since I was little. Botox injections are commonly used to treat muscle spasticity, particularly for cerebral palsy. Botox also can help reduce muscle tightness and improve the range of motion. Now, I usually get Botox twice a year because it helps improve my motion and muscle strength through exercises and physical therapy. My muscles remain strong as  long as I can move but sometimes my left arm feels weak.) I had my first day back at Metzcor! (Metzcor is an outstanding adult day and community facility for adults with developmental disabilities located in the west side of Cincinnati. They offer fun and recreational activities, employment opportunities, and community services. I have been a member of the Metzcor community since 2018. They are the BEST company! They are always respectful and fun each and every weekday.) I greeted and hugged many people I know there. I met a few new staff members. They are nice and friendly. I got lunch from BLOC Coffee Shop inside the building - I had The Zackanator sandwich (sourdough, salami, pepperoni,  provolone, banana peppers, and sriracha mayo) and a berry smoothie - the lunch was delicious.  When I got home from Metzcor, I noticed that the driver who took me home was clueless about where I live because he almost drove me the wrong place lol πŸ˜‚ I successfully assured him to drive me home correctly! I ate Lebanese d my mom bought me from a local Lebanese church for dinner - yummy πŸ˜‹ I had a wonderful day! Everybody was happy to see me and have me back at Metzcor. It made my heart joyful!

Tuesday, June 3 - At Metzcor, I joined Makecor (Art and design) club. I am so disappointed I did not get to use 3D printer machine today. Instead, we painted a wood art. The staff taught us about wood watercolor painting. They also talked about 3D Printing pieces. I enjoyed painting the wood. But I prefer to do digital painting because I have a background in graphic design. Next time I will eventually get to use 3D printer machine. Afterwards, I went to the nail salon and got my manicure done - I wear pale pink fingernails! I got McAlister's via carryout for dinner- I had a Pecanberry Salad with grilled chicken and famous sweet iced tea. It was a healthy dinner.

Wednesday, June 4 - I enjoyed being on my iPad and quickly exercising. I had my new AFO leg braces made. I have been wearing AFO leg braces since I was a toddler. These braces enable me to coordinate my legs, exercise, walk with assistance, stand independently, and transfer to any seated position. It also helps improve my strength and balance. But, sometimes wearing my leg braces makes a small wound or rash appear on my leg when I stand up or exercise. I kind of feel somewhat frustrated with the problem. I use a special cream to help heal a wound or rash on my leg. it's not a contagious problem. I am concerned that the wound might get worse or infected. But I will optimistically monitor it to make sure it doesn't get worse or infected. Now, the wound is getting much better.  I got some salmon sushi for dinner - yummy. Eating a sushi makes me feel energetic and makes my stomach feel great. lol πŸ˜‚ I watched a trailer of "Wicked For Good". The end of the trailer made me cry... We will be changed for good! πŸ©·πŸ’š

Thursday, June 5 - I got a turkey avocado wrap and a strawberry banana smoothie from BLOC Coffee Shop @ Metzcor for lunch- delicious. I went to a new local physical therapy clinic for the first time. It was my first ever PT session there. During the session, my mom and I talked to a new physical therapist named Nick about my physical therapy and exercise experiences. He was impressed by my body strength. He taught me to do high five and punch, standing high step, etc. it was pretty satisfying. Next time, I will try harder to improve my strength and balance with Nick. I went to Outback for dinner- yummy!

The past week has been great for me. It was filled with excitement, relaxation, fun, joy, laughter, positivity, and wellbeing. I am grateful for what I did during the past week. 😁πŸ₯°
